Girls Write Out
Sunday, February 15, 2009

I've watched every season of American Idol except the first, but my favorite was season 5. Chris Daughtry, Katharine McPhee, Taylor Hicks, and of course, Mandisa. Although I've had my favorite contestants every season, I confess I've only voted once: for Mandisa when she braved Simon's ridicule to sing "Shackles".

So I was excited when I found out Kevin had gotten front row tickets for a Valentines Mandisa Concert. It was such a treat to worship side by side with my sweetie and hear Mandisa not only sing but pour our her heart with such transparency.

I was already blessed, but then we found out we had backstage passes. Kevin ran to the car for a copy of Sweetwater Gap and I gave it to Mandisa after the show and told her what a blessing she's been to me.

All that and a box of Debrand too. I'd say that was a pretty great Valentines Day.

So fun!!! I met Mandisa at CBA one year. She is so beautiful!! We're going to see "Wicked" for our Valentine's. I wonder if there's a message there. LOL

What a sweetheart! He did good!

Dave had to work on Valentine's Day but he took me out for Mexican later with my cousins. I wrote all day. :-)

Mandisa really is a doll. C, Kevin worked Saturday too. You wrote chapters and I edited them. Aren't we fun?

Such a boring life for us, D! :-) I'd love to meet Mandisa someday. I love her music.

It sounds like you had a great time! Kevin did a great job with your gift. :)

I think season 5 of Idol was my favorite too. It will be interesting to see how this season turns out.
