Let’s party!!!!

I’ve had a stinkin’ summer: six weeks of quarantine and two lung biopsies--my driver’s license expired July 31 (haven’t had a chance to renew!), I have an upcoming root canal, and I’m scheduled to do jury duty next week.

But today is my birthday and I plan to . . . .

PAR-TAY!!!!!!

It’s a great day because I’m not wearing a mask, and I’m not scheduled for a hospital procedure!!!! WHOOOHOOOOOO!!! But best of all, I’m surrounded by family, friends—and oh, yeah, my husband is taking me to DeBrand’s tonight!!!

So help me celebrate! Share a happy birthday memory!

You're right, Pam! I still have August. Hubby is back to school (principal) so I automatically think my summer is over! LOL!

Thanks, Brittanie! Still don't know what's wrong with me (my parents have been trying to figure it out for years). Hopefully, will know more next week.

Di, I'm right there with you on the medical woes. I've been in and out of the doc's office and hospital for my thyroid.

Enjoy DeBrands and tell us what you did! Happy Birthday too!

My favorite memory. I was having a crummy 22nd b-day. I was pregnant with my girl, sicker than a dog with morning sickness, living in house that didn't have any heat, and my twin boys dumped all of my earrings down a furnace vent. Hubby kept it a secret, but at my woman's Bible study that night they surprised me with a party. Perked me up right away.

Thanks for the congrats, Lisa! It made my whole day when I heard my books finaled! Just the pick me up I needed--though I have to admit listening to the Slugs sing, "Don't Worry, Be Happy" before my procedure helped too. ;-)

Thanks, Katy!

Winter, sorry you're going through physical woes. It stinks, but I guess the good news is we're still alive and kickin'! I loved your birthday story! The question is did any of your friends get you earrings? *g*

Nope, no earrings. My friend who threw the party called right after it happened and hubby told what the twins did. She gave me a big hug when I arrived and then haded me the biggest slice of apple pie. My B-days in Oct.

Actually, I had to suck them out with a vacuum, then tear open the new bag to dig them out. Needless to say, I got them all back.

Thanks, Deb! I'm still in shock to be named among such great writers!

Okay, Deena, that just made my whole day! Thank you!

Winter, so glad you got your earrings back! *g*

Happy Birthday!

For my 40th I had a girls only bash. My dear husband payed for me to take a group of of my friends to a Moroccan place where we ate barefoot on the floor and used our fingers instead of silverware. We belly danced and had a blast!

Since we have so much bad luck in common, I'm sharing a birthday memory just for you Di. My parents forgot my 16th. We were away and I kept waiting for them to say something, but nope, nothing.

Maybe that explains a lot, doesn't it? LOL My mom will kill me, she denies it ever happened. : ) Eat up there are no calories on your birthday!

Happy Day, Di! Things have to get better from here.

Chocolate Coma will be your next debilitation. But ah, the sweet taste of celebration!

Congrats on the final in Book of the Year. You are a winner in my book.

Ooo, DeBrands you lucky woman. LOL Happy Birthday and congratulations on finaling. The book was excellent and definitely deserved to be there. :)

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes and congrats on the Book of the Year contest! You all made my day!

Okay, I have to tell you, I was too tired, yes, too tired, to go to DeBrand's for chocolate last night. I did manage to have a piece of chocolate cake (lots of icing) from Casa's (restaurant), though. Delicious!

Oh, one more thing. I had a friend once who made me an "icing" cake! Teeny-weeny cake, and TONS of icing. It was sheer heaven.

That's probably what's wrong with my lung. ROTFLOL!

Hope your day was all you wished for and that getting out of the house without that stinkin' mask (Mask? You don't need o stinkin' mask!) was better than you imagined (and you have a pretty good imagination).
Happy, happy!

I swear I wrote a birthday note on here yesterday for you...where did it go?
Anyway, happy birthday Diann! Hope all of your chocolate abandons it's fat and calories before you indulge.

Favorite birthday memory? This year (two weeks ago actually!) when my 13 year old son called me at midnight from his cell phone in his bedroom and sang the birthday song to me. Very sweet. That boy is going to make some lucky girl a great husband someday.

Betsy Ann, I got out jury duty! I'll most likely get called in November, but since I'm having the health issues, they let me off for now. I think I'd rather do jury duty than have the health issues. :-)

Thanks, Jenny and LeAnna!

Suzanne, that just melted my heart! What a sweet son you have!

Happy Birthday, Diann!

Hope it was a great day and that you got a "rain check" for the DeBrand's visit. :0) You must have REALLY been tired! Hope you can make the trip soon!

Favorite birthday memory? For my husband's 50th birthday, I threw an "old dog" (as in "Can't teach an old dog new tricks") party for him. The guests brought "old dog" gifts for him. We even had a contest to act out different kinds of dogs--e.g., "faithful dog," "hyper, overly-friendly dog," "lonely dog," etc. It was hilarious--especially when one of our friends licked my husband's hand!

Blessings on you this coming year! May your year be mask-free.

Happy Belated Birthday!!

Just last year, my husband gave me a 50th birthday bash. Everyone came dressed in 50's style. We played games and sang oldies. We had hamburgers and rootbeer floats in vintage glasses.

My very good friend made me a poodle skirt. It was beautiful.

The surprise was that my husband got himself an Elvis costume complete with a cape and wig. It was hilarious.

Congrats on the book finals! You go girl!
