TEENY TINY FAVOR

The four of us are gearing up to speak at a writer's conference on blogging, and we thought we'd get information from the experts--you!

So, if you're game (and we really hope you are), please take two minutes and answer the questions below. We know you're busy, so we kept it short. Isn't that considerate?

1. Are you a writer?

2. How did you learn about Girls Write Out?

3. Have you bought one or more of our books as a result of this blog?

4. Approximately how many times have you visited our websites because of Girls Write Out?

5. What keeps you coming back to Girls Write Out?

You can (pretty please!) list your answers by clicking on "Comments" below or by emailing me at denise@denisehunterbooks.com Simple answers are fine, but feel free to expound if you're feeling chatty. :-)

1. Are you a writer?
No. I'm an avid reader and aspiring writer. I seem to be stuck in the "researching/ learning" phase right now mainly because I'm too afraid to try and fail. :(

2. How did you learn about Girls Write Out?
I saw a link on Angela Hunt's blog. I love Kristin Billerbeck's novels, girlfriends, spas, and chocolate so I was instantly hooked. :)

3. Have you bought one or more of our books as a result of this blog?
Not yet but I do plan to check the rest of the authors out. (I'm just currently trying to finish all the books I have that I haven't read - and then moving on to new ones.)

4. Approximately how many times have you visited our websites because of Girls Write Out?
a handful of times...

5. What keeps you coming back to Girls Write Out?
entertainment

1. No, I am not a writer, but I LOVE to read. I want to write, but I am really trying to seek God's guidance in that.

2. I learned about the blog from Kristin's website.

3. I automatically buy all of Kristin's books, but the blog has introduced me to the other other authors. I have read one of Colleen's, which I enjoyed.

4. I have visited each of the websites because of the blog.

5. It has been interesting for me to learn about the real lives of the authors who create the fiction that I enjoy.

1. Yes.
2. Not sure - I think it was through Kristin's site.
3. No, though I receive Kristin's books for review and my interest in Colleen's books keeps growing (oh, to have more money).
4. I'm not sure I have - mentioning a new feature on one of your sites in a blog post might get me to.
5. Witty posts, info on writing - I'm subbed with Bloglines, so I don't have to come back - new posts come up automatically.

1. I think about being a writer, does that count?

2.I found your blogs through Angela Hunt's blog

3.I haven't bought books *insert sheepish grin here* because I am on Dave Ramsey's get-out-of-debt plan, BUT I do request all of your books (especially Kristens) at my local library and devour them!

4. You guys have websites? ROFL

5. I like reading about your lives, it is nice to know that we are all the same!

5. What keeps you coming back to Girls Write Out? You're saucy and sassy, meaning interesting. And also caring. Also, you sometimes give tips about the industry which I like, such as when DiAnn was trying to come up with a title in conjunction with her editor, and when Colleen has mentioned strategizing with her editor, etc. Last, many of your posts provoke a response, which I like. Writers like to write!

Also, Colleen, re: the book title ABOMINATION...as a guy, that sounds a lot like something I'd read...I know you said that you were concerned that it sound "too hard for a female suspense reader", I don't...think...so...but then again it's not as raw as BODY PARTS GONE A' MISSING!

What about DARK GIDEON or ABOMINATION: GIDEON

1. Are you a writer?
Yes, although not published in the mainstream. I do small things for my church and schools, businesses that need a little help. Lisa Tuttle says I must embrace who I am. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has called me to write for such a time as this. With that knowing I began to write small stuff, but with God’s guidance, I will move on to bigger things and whether I am published or not, I will know that I have fulfilled my purpose. My audience of One seems to be pleased so far.

2. How did you learn about Girls Write Out?
One day I was in a bookstore struggling with buying a book called Beauty for Ashes by Dorothy Clark and What a Girl Wants by Kristin Billerbeck. I had never heard of either author, and it took me 2 ½ hours to decide. I decided on Beauty for Ashes. My boyfriend surprised me when he dropped me off by handing me a bag from the bookstore. Because I had so much trouble deciding what to get, he secretly bought What a Girl Wants for me. I have loved him ever since I finished reading it. I immediately went to her website and found out about her books and saw that she had a blog called Girls Write Out.

3. Have you bought one or more of our books as a result of this blog?
I have all of Kristin’s books and have read Hot Flashes and Cold Cream, Finding Faith, Saving Grace, RV There Yet?, and Distant Echoes.

4. Approximately how many times have you visited our websites because of Girls Write Out?
I visit the blog everyday, but I only visit the websites about once every two weeks.

5. What keeps you coming back to Girls Write Out?
Are you kidding me? It’s my entertainment for the day. I can relate to most of the people on the blog because now I don’t feel like I’m the only person in the world who has this ridiculous love affair with words. I have blogged with people who understand how powerful words are and that they can change someone’s life. All the ladies of hecka-funny and all the topics discussed are interesting. I have also started my own blog and met two really funny girls around my age.

This is ridiculously lenghty and chatty...Sorry :(
